The Fashion and Textile Museum

This is a great museum and always has some great exhibitions on. The last one I attended was a celebration of Sandersons and showed some of their fantastic wallpaper and fabric samples as well as some of their fascinating history.

I had an email this morning about the next exhibition which looks well worth visiting.

Designing Women looks at a trio of women who pioneered post war British Textile Design. Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag and Marian Mahler will have more than 100 pieces of work showing between them which will show how beautiful and innovative their work still looks today.

Shown below are Mahler, Day and Groag:

The exhibition runs from the 16th March to the 16th June 2012 at The Fashion and Textile Museum which is on Bermondsey Street, London, SE1. The Design Museum is just a short walk  away as well which is good to visit. Plus the area itself is fascinating to walk around with some great little coffee shops and interesting gift shops. Then from the Design Museum you can walk along the river and go for dinner at Borough Market which is a must as well. For the next David Moody tour...............
